After the success of the May Social Run, we are pleased to be able to share the following details about June’s Social Run. Mark your calendars!
Route: Isle of Arran – Clockwise
Date: Sunday 11th June 2017
Meeting Point: Ardrossan Ferry Terminal, KA22 8BZ
Time: Meet at 9:00 – ferry departs 9:45, arriving at Brodick 10:40. Ferry return times from Brodick are 16:40 and 19:20.
Details: At a distance of around 56 miles (or 90 kilometres, if you prefer) and with around 4,000ft of climbing, the route follows the coastline of Arran in a clockwise direction, completing a full circuit of the island. We head south out of Brodick towards Lamlash and immediately into our first climb of the day. The south coast of the island, heading through Lamlash and Whiting Bay, is peppered with some short, punchy climbs, followed by some lovely rolling roads along the West coast through Blackwaterfoot. We will have an all-important café stop to refuel at Machrie Bay before continuing north towards Lochranza. The longest, toughest climb of the day awaits us here, before a fast descent down through Corrie and a race to catch the ferry in Brodick.

We had 14 riders out for the first social run of the year, and it was enjoyed by all, so let’s try and match that turnout for what is sure to be another great day out on the bike!
